MY STORY
Hello Lovlies! My name is Tasia and I’m very grateful that you are here. Looking back, I can see my health struggles started Junior year in high school. Coming home from my first day of school in a new state, and not feeling well. A doctor’s visit would conclude that I had mononucleosis and the next several months were spent trying to recover from a severe case.
From this point forward, I was constantly getting sick. Repeated cases of strep throat led to my tonsils being removed, and it all went downhill after that. Then next few years (my early twenties) were spent facing chronic fatigue, widespread joint and muscle pain, and what seemed like an endless list of scary symptoms.
I trusted the medical world completely and looked to the Doctors for an answer. A diagnosis was finally reached. After years of countless specialists, needles for bloodwork, steroid injections, and emergency room visits. I had an auto immune issue, Fibromyalgia. My body was attacking me and there was no cure, no magic pill. I would be managing these symptoms for the rest of my life.
As a mother of two children under the age of three, I was devastated, depressed, and afraid. Barely able to get myself out of bed, showered, and dressed for the day, let alone be the loving, generous, full of life nurturer to my babies that I wanted to be. That they deserved me to be.
I remember the moment I realized I needed to figure something out, or I wasn’t going to be there to watch them grow up. I felt it was life or death for me lying in bed that I night, and I was going to fight. Even if at the time I didn’t know how.
The Universe however was waiting for me to wake up. As my focus began to shift from a mindset of chronic illness to that of one finding the way to health, things began to change. People, books, and resources I didn’t know were available before began to “fall on my lap.” And no, it didn’t happen overnight, to be honest I am still on my own healing journey and learning about myself every single day!
The truth is that this incredibly difficult time in my life led me to find my greatest passion. Through healing myself I was able to also acquire a unique set of tools that could help and inspire others. I could offer a space where individuals could fell seen, heard, and safe as they forged their own path.
Currently I am going to school full-time, working towards my Associates degree, with a concentration inholistic wellness. I aim to expand this space to offer coaching, recipes, yoga, poetry, and all the things that the mind, body, and soul need to experience wellness. I hope you will stick around and join me in this experience!
